Dancing Bears

Famed Polar Bear Expert
ZeroBear PolyBear, BS, MS, PhD, esq. (yours truly)
Would like to take the opportunity to share with all of you the
results of his extensive research last night into the dancing
habits of PolarBearus upNorthicus, (scientific name)
better known as the polar bears from up north.

Not many know that Polar Bears are skilled dancers
but you do now.

Let's take a look at the social rituals followed
when Polar Bears dance.

Usually the bears will take part in a cordial pre-dance greeting

along the lines of,
"How are you?"
"I am fine"
"Wanna shake a leg?"
"Sure."

They move to the dance floor and chit chat until the
band starts playing.
"Lovely fur coat you are wearing tonight!"
"Thank you. And your fur jacket is quite lovely, too."
"Nice of you to mention it."

Sometimes there are disagreements about who
will lead and who will follow. These are usually quickly
settled once the band starts - in this case with a nice
Latin Cha Cha Cha.

In this shot, you can see that strict social
formalities are strictly adhered to during the dance
with proper spacing and social niceties followed at
all times.

One two Cha Cha Cha. Three Four Cha Cha Cha.
The entire dance is well done and nicely stepped off.

After the dance, a joyful thank you is normally considered
acceptable, before the couple retires to their table for a brief
rest, to catch their breath, perhaps enjoy a root beer and
some small talk before the next number because
above all else they came to dance.

Bears are great dancers, and any night of dancing
would include participation in all of the latest popular dances
especially by the more skilled dancers, who will hit the floor
whenever the band begins a new number.

Here we see a couple doing the
Vienna Waltz.
"Da da da da daaaaaaaaaaaa
Bump Bump, bump bump
Da da da da daaaaaaaaaaaa
Bump Bump, Bump Bump...."

Followed by the very fashionable and always
popular Quick Step.

And I must say,
Well Done! Well Done!

And finally when the midnight sun gets to flashing
and the band really starts cooking.

we see a crowd of onlookers enjoying the visually spectacular show

when this couple does the Hully Gully!
