Pittsburgh!

8:30 pm

Here.

We

are.

Finally

A tired Bear?

Are you kidding?

Just trying to make Mumzie and Da feel better,
because they were getting tired and I hated to
make them feel bad.

A short commercial message

As the new national SpokesBear for this fine company

I'd like to point out that whenever
ZeroBear PolyBear needs propelling

He chooses "Propel Zero"

Available at fine Grocery Stores and Convenience
Centers in your area. Buy a sixpack today!

I was not

I was just

Resting ny eyes.

Of course you know

About every twenty or thirty minutes, today

I had to spell Da.

He did work the pedals for me, but I did all the hard stuff
like steering and horn honking.

West Virginia

3:28 pm

Da says we

Are in West Virginia

12 hours on the road.

Rome was built quicker than this.

It wasn't?

How do you know? Were you there?

4:10 pm

A good thing happened here.

We ran into some Rolling Thunder guys

Headed toward DC.

Go guys! Was a pleasure riding with you for a while.

Varoooooom!

Will Kentucky never end?

If it weren't for

the swell snicky snacks Mumzie packed, I don't think
I'd make it across Kentucky.

Drive, Drive, Drive

Da is doing OK, but there is no way I will tell him that.

He should be happy that

I'm willing to share my stash of oatmeal cookies with him.

Faster Da.

Put that pedal to the metal!

Lexington, KY

Home of this swell Castle

And

Keeneland Race Track

I put $2.00 on a pony and intent to make a fortune
off my bet.

Who did I choose?

Come Later!

He was 4,786,943 to 1

I'm gonna be rich!

Let's see Da stop me from getting that Go Fast Red
Corvette back in Bowling Green then!

I may buy two of them

Or this one. I wish it was red.

Once again

The Government is lieing to us.

exhibit one:

The grass is green.

The sky is blue.

I rest my case.

Da took their lie - Hook, Line and Sinker.

BlueGrass Parkway, my yellow leg.

Should be The GreenGrass Parkway.

Kentucky

Da has been following this old truck for hours.

Why I have no idea.

I'm a passer myself.

Anyhow, we somehow have managed to

get into Kentucky.

Home of Lincoln

and the Corvette

Here we are at the National Corvette Museum.

Da says that the assembly plant is right down the road
here in Bowling Green.

I say we should stop and buy me a

red one. I bet I could get to Pittsburgh a week before Da
if I had me this baby. It is painted in their special
"Go Fast Red".

Da says, "Not this trip."

sheeeesh

Nashville Cats

I was taking a short nap
and I think while I was asleep, Da figured out he was
going in the wrong direction, because now it looks like we
have made it to

Nashville.

Ah

Music City

Home of the Parthenon.

Yeh, I thought it was in Greece, too.

Evidently Garth Brooks bought it with the profits from
his Greatest Hits album and had it relocated to Tennessee.

I understand the General Jackson River Boat is there, too.
I wanted to take a ride on it, but Da said no.

Also,

The Ryman Auditorium is in Nashville.
It's the place where they hold the Grand Ole Opry
every Saturday Night.

Unfortunately we will be in Pittsburgh by then, if Da can
find a faster setting on the accelerator than 80 mph.

I may have him leave Mumzie and me in Nashville when we head
back. I think I could make it big in Country Music.

I know all the words to the perfect country music song:

"I was drunk the day my maw got out of prison,
and I went to pick her up in the rain.
But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck,
she got runned over by a danged old train."

Maybe Da could drive our tour bus,
if he wouldn't get us lost all the time.
He would need to learn how to drive faster, too.

Quite Frankly, I'm worried.

Da may have us lost.

every time I ask,
"Are we there yet?"

he just says,

"No."

According to this map, we may be in Mexico.

Sheeeeeesh.

I guess it was my decision to let him drive.

In my opinion,

He got us into this mess, and he can just drive us out of it.

North Bound

9:00 am

North of Birmingham now

I have decided to allow Da to continue driving as long
as he doesn't mess up, which could happen at any moment.
This is Da we're dealing with, after all.

Me?

Catching some rays on the front dash.

Hope there are no laws against this in Alabama.

Would hate to see Da get a ticket for the drawing.

The Great Adventure 2012

Where were we?

Oh yeh.

6:50 am

Now back on the road

Do you know what it would be if they put every car
in America on the highway at one time?

Memorial Day weekend!

I'm keeping a close watch on where
we are headed.

Where we've been?

same difference.

Have You missed me?

I am taking Mumzie and what's his name

Uh

Uh

Oh yeh

Da...

His name is Da.

Anyhow,

I'm taking Mumzie and Da on a great adventure.

I plan on driving them all the way up to Pennsylvania!

Here are some highlights for you.

Thursday (5/24/12) 3:24 am - pre-departure

I couldn't sleep at all last night, so I'm a little fuzzy headed.
Da agreed to drive the first leg.
Hopefully he will do OK.

3:30 am
On The Road!
It's really dark out there. I hope Da doesn't run over
a booger or a ghost. Just keep her between the lines, Da.
And you'll do fine... (I hope)

3:35 am
I'm a little worried.  As slow as Da is going
we'll never get there. I think It is about a million
thousand miles to Pittsburgh.

3:40 am

What was that? I think Da ran over a cow in the dark.
Hard to take photos if he insists on running over every cow
we encounter.

5:20 am
I must have dozed off a little. At least the sky
has a little light in it now.

Wait!

What's that?

Ya know what?

I believe it is!

Hoo Nelley!

This trip has potential!

(To be continued -
We has a PolyBear tummy to fill)

Friday, March 9, 2012

Do you like to go out for a ride?

Yeh, I do too.

I think everybody likes to get out of the house
every so often.

and it hurts when everybody else is going and you
get left home alone.

Mumzie and Da let me go on trips with them all the time.

My goal is always to be the driver. But its difficult to
reach the go pedal.

And the dash on Da's truck is hard to see over
from the driver's seat.

Most of the time I have to sneak away with his keys
and get driving practice while Da
is busy doing other stuff.

I think learning to drive is working out ok.

Sometimes I cut the corners a little short but that is not
too unusual when you're still learning.

I think I have parking down pretty good now.

I know for a fact that

I'm doing a lot better now than my first attempts.
